A Total Lunar Eclipse Viewing and Full Crow Moon Hike at Ansonia Nature Center
On Thursday, March 13, at 11:57 p.m., a total lunar eclipse will begin. A total lunar eclipse takes place when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, and its shadow covers the Moon. Eclipse watchers can see the Moon turn red when the eclipse reaches totality. On Friday, March 14, at 2:58 a.m., the Lunar Eclipse will be at its maximum. So, if you’d like to see it, you’ll have to set your alarms for the only visible lunar eclipse of the year and view it from your own home. Later Friday evening, join the Nature Center staff on a full moon hike through our fields. Guests must wear appropriate shoes for hiking on uneven terrain.
