Sheep & Wool Festival

Spring in Rhode Island means one thing: it’s time for the return of Sheep & Wool Festival at Coggeshall Farm Museum! On Saturday, May 17th, this beloved event will bring the sights, sounds, and textures of traditional fiber arts to life, celebrating the deep-rooted connection between our region and its agricultural past.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

At Sheep & Wool Festival, guests can enjoy live sheep shearing demonstrations, wool dyeing demonstrations, and spinning and weaving exhibits, all showcasing traditional skills that have shaped New England’s farming heritage. In addition to demonstrations, guests will have the chance to browse a large selection of fiber goods from the festival’s many vendors. Artisans and creators from across New England will be at Sheep & Wool Festival showcasing and selling their hand-made products. Visit with the farm’s sheep and see visiting animals that provide us with the fiber for our craft. As part of the festivities, guests are invited to showcase their own fiber creations or artwork inspired by animals at Sheep & Wool Festival. Pieces will be on display at the festival under an open-sided tent.  Attendees will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite piece, and the winner will receive a family membership to Coggeshall Farm Museum and more. Pre-registration is HIGHLY recommended and tickets may sell out. Rain or Shine!
