Danbury Library presents: Learn SEA SHANTIES for International Seafarer's Day

Join in the ongoing Tiktok Sea Shanty craze by learning some classic old songs! You could be the next international star! Or, you could just have a lot of fun exploring some great old tunes!
We will be celebrating the International Day of the Seafarer with one of the Mystic Seaport Museum’s renowned musician educators, making sailors’ work come alive with stories told through music. Students are invited to become crew members as they join in a chorus, picture the events in a ballad or use a chantey as a tool to help accomplish hard work like raising sail from their home or classroom. Students will learn about the history of sea chanteys and their use, and participate in interactive songs with a live musician.
For students ages 10+ and their families. Everyone is welcome!
