Count Me In! How to become a Hawk Counter!
Every autumn the skies are filled with hundreds of hawks migrating to far flung regions south for the winter. White Memorial monitors these species by counting them as they fly over our station. Come learn how to identify hawks in flight and the process of running the station with Research Director James Fischer. Bring your binoculars, lunch, and favorite bird guide. Most of this program will be indoors to view a slideshow but there will be some time outside. 11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M., A. B. Ceder Room, FREE…donations will be accepted to help defray the Conservation Center’s programming expenses.
