This exhibit, of the humpback whales’ annual 3,000-mile migration between their summer feeding grounds in New England and their winter breeding grounds in the Caribbean, was created by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Learn when and why the whales migrate, and explore the hazards that humpbacks face as they cross ocean borders, including poisoning from pollution, becoming entangled in fishing gear and being hit by boats and ships.
The exhibit is installed in the lobby of The Maritime Aquarium’s IMAX® Theater because it is a perfect tie-in to the movie “Humpback Whales,” showing daily through May 26, 2016.
