Wilton Historical Society

Welcome to the Wilton Historical Society, located in Wilton, Connecticut. Established in 1938, the Society is dedicated to preserving the history and character of Wilton, with an exciting schedule of exhibitions, programs, and preservation that draws visitors from throughout New England and New York.

Seventeen Historic Buildings
We have preserved seventeen buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries. Five are located on the Society's site and make up our museum. The others are nearby at Lambert Corners and Cannon Corners and contain retail stores, offices, and apartments.

Extensive Collections
The museum has twelve period rooms and a collection of locally significant art and antiques, including a permanent exhibition of children's toys and a significant collection of tools, as well as a working blacksmith's shop from 1890. Temporary exhibitions focus on local history, American art and antiques, architecture, and historic preservation. Programs including a lecture series, educational events for young people, and social events in costume and period settings enhance the collection and exhibitions.
